First Beaded Ring

May 26, 2012

I’m making progress on my goals to accomplish things… First of all, the baby sweater in the last crafting post is gone.  Not done, but gone. I couldn’t do a good job with it, so I gave it up to someone that could knit it better.

Today I completed the beaded ring I started on Monday.  I’m pretty happy with how it came out & I love the way the peyote band feels – there will be more of these in my future!

Mother nature is getting crafty under my roofline.  I’m not happy that these are so close to my house, something will have to be done about this (shoot them down with a hose then run for my life?).  There’s certainly enough trees surrounding our home so these wasps will easily find another place to build their nests.

Next on the to-do list: finish my pattern for a beaded crochet necklace. I’ve been teaching folks how to make these for a few months now, but the pattern keeps getting put on the back burner. With a new computer and no more excuses left, this will get done!  I have another class on Monday afternoon, so there’s some urgency in this, too.  I have everything 90% ready – just need to give it another once-over and I’m considering redoing the photographs.  We’ll see…. Update – The pattern is live – you can get your copy right here - Dragon Scales Crochet Necklace.

Any crafty plans on your weekend to-do list?

  2. Great work on the beaded ring. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into that little thing. Hopefully in the 3rd quarter of this year, I get some time to work on my beading.

  3. Great job with the ring! Good luck with your pattern. I have a beading pattern that I've been putting off finishing for months now.
