Here are the topics to choose from:
Topic 1: The third Sunday in July is National Ice Cream Day? Are you celebrating it?
and Topic 2 which I didn’t even notice after reading that one. Will be hosted by StoryBeader and appear at the EtsyBloggers site on 7/18/11.
I think every day is an Ice Cream day. Today’s indulgence, brought out of the freezer for a quick photo:
Just ignore the [healthy] container of tomatoes and the [no-fat] pineapple in the background.
I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounded intriguing: Bonnaroo Buzz - Coffee & Malt Ice Creams with Whiskey Caramel Swirls and English Toffee Pieces. You have to love the names of Ben & Jerry’s flavors, too. Chubby Hubby used to be my pick, Late Night Snack is another recent fave: Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with a Salty Caramel Swirl & Fudge Covered Potato Chip Clusters.
If I hadn’t read about Ben & Jerry’s just this morning, I might have resisted the pull when I passed the freezer section of the grocery store today….. Check out Crafty Richela’s Pint Challenge creation!
In case you know me… yes, I have a lactose intolerance. I’ve given up most things that have dairy in them, but this is a treat I can’t give up entirely!!
Near my house is an ice cream stand that sells Blake’s Ice Cream. I go there way, way too often, although lately I’ve been having a dairy-free sorbet… my all-time favorite flavor there is Graham Central Station - Graham cracker flavored ice cream with a graham cracker swirl & chocolate covered crisp candy. It is so subtle and delicious.
What’s your favorite ice cream treat? Most unusual flavor you’ve ever tried?
Dearest sweet Tammy, i love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream lots!! And one thing that attracted me to them it's their awesome packaging. :) I can't wait to see what you create for the Challenge. Have a lovely merry happy sunday and love to you!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of ice cream day. I love the idea. It should be international. Most Asians don't take much dairy except the younger gen. Ice cream is an exception tho'. In Singapore we have low-lactose milk and yogurt. "It tastes like ice-cream" that's how they sell the low-lactose stuff.
ReplyDeleteI think I take packaging for granted, I will buy wine if it has a cool label, but I don't care how my ice cream is wrapped up.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to try the challenge, I just love Crafty Richela's entry!
Now that I'm writing again, there's another ice cream brand that I LOVE: Turkey Hill. They have monthly flavors and some of them are very unique!
If dairy-free Tofutti came with mix-ins, I'd be all set - their vanilla is very good.
DH and I will share a banana split from Brahms, once in a blue moon. I like to eat right out of the carton! little cartons... {:-D
ReplyDeleteOn a vacation in Vermont some years ago, my family toured Ben and Jerry's factory! free samples, too!
ReplyDeleteHere's my post on ice cream:
celebrating ice cream
and my post on you!
Tamdoll
I have tried that Late Night Snack flavor and it is gooooood. I usually like any ice cream but right now in the freezer we have Edy's chocolate with Oreos. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteDearest sweet tammy, i hope you are doing well and having a great weekend! Came by to wish you a lovely merry sunday! Love to you!
