Happy New Year

L'Shana Tova

A happy & healthy new year to all ... & a sweet one, too!

Taiglech, my favorite Rosh Hashana dessert. Biscuity nuggets boiled in honey and piled together with walnuts & cranberries. Usually I'd use candied cherries but couldn't find them in the store.

In my experience, these were always prepared in giant heaping mounds, in platters or pie pans. Serving a portion out of a hardened honey confection is never easy, so I made these individual-sized in a muffin tin. This worked out great!

Easy, delicious recipe from the book The Book of Jewish Food by Claudia Roden (affiliate link). Just like I had when I was little.
