Off the Floor Recycling
Waaay back, I was cleaning my floor and couldn't bear to throw away some of the pretty fabric scraps, usable (although penny-sized!) pieces of fusible web and scraps of yarn that I found accumulating in my workspace. So, the idea was born to save them and create something with it all. I finally created a flickr group for all like-minded people to join and you can get to it by clicking on the above button.
"Get those scraps of fabric, yarn ends, crafty remnants, found objects and pieces of thread "Off the Floor" and make something creative, useful, functional, beautiful or wearable with it. Challenge yourself to be creative and share your process, keeping our floor's clean and trash bags empty."

I think this can be alot of fun for all the people that hoard even the tiniest pieces of crafty materials and don't always know what to do with them. We can post before & after pictures at the flickr group, help each other come up with project ideas, and have challenges monthly if members are all up to it.

Want a button for your blog sidebar? You can use the picture above & directions how to make this a button can be found at this handy blogpost I found, (thanks Google!) Of course, you can always email me or leave a message here if you need help, too.

  1. This is a great idea. If I can sit still for one minute without thinking about work, I'll try to make something.

  2. this is going to be so much fun!

  3. I have been putting my scraps into a rubbermaid box and I have been slowly working thru them. I have made dog and cat toys, coasters, and a doll for my friends daughter. It keeps me occupied while I'm at baseball and poms practice. I shock myself w/all the things I can come up w/to make. Great idea!

Thanks for stopping by!
